School Clothes

This time of year it is always fun to shop for new school clothes. I haven't done much shopping yet, but I'll really get going this weekend! One thing that Kaylee has really been wanting is a cute skirt. I bought one for her and it was huge in the waist and way short in the length. So, you ask where I got this cute skirt???? Yep, I made it. It was an easy 2 hour project! Now, I just need to find a really cute shirt to go with it. Luckily, Kaylee loves it! School clothes shopping has now officially begun.

Tyson's Favorite Thing

This is Tyson's new favorite thing....Cinnamon Toast Crunch WITH milk! I gave in a let him have free rein on eating his own cereal! He LOVES it! Today he went for thirds! Every time I went to clean him up and get down he threw a fit wanting more cereal. He loves using the spoon, although sometimes he has to use his other hand to put the cereal on the spoon. It is fun to watch him figure it all out. Even though he gets VERY messy, this activity entertained him for over an hour this morning! I better go buy some more Cinnamon Toast Crunch!

My Girl

Today will be a fun day for me to always remember. We have been planning and practicing for months now and today we did it! We performed a piano duet in church. We played "Love at Home." I was so proud of Kaylee for doing this with me. It is something that I will never forget. I can't believe that she is old enough to play the piano in church, what a big accomplishment for a 7 year old. I remember playing the piano in church when I was younger, but not when I was 7! We were lucky enough to have my mom here to listen to us play. I'm so glad she got to hear it! Kaylee and I received many compliments from friends and ward members. Our song truly added a special touch to our meeting today.

Christmas in July

Sometimes it is really hard for me to work on Christmas projects during the summer, but this month I have buckled down and got my "Peppermint Posies" put together! I am loving it! Now I am going to attempt to quilt it before I will applique cute little peppermints on it. At this rate, I will surely have it done before December comes, and then it will be proudly displayed on my quilt rack in the front room. This is what it is really supposed to look like when it's done. I can only hope it will look that good! Does anyone else have projects in the works?

Neighbors

Today I'm thankful for good neighbors. This afternoon I sent the kids to the backyard to play for a while. When I checked on them a while later I noticed them playing with the boys next door over and under the fence! They threw balls and hats back and forth. In this picture you can see an arm coming under the fence that would try to grab Kaylee and Kyler's feet. (I took the picture through the sliding door so that they wouldn't see me, that's why it's a little fuzzy.) Kaylee and Kyler have been laughing and laughing. It is so nice to know that those boys (the neighbor and a friend) are good kids and that they will have some fun with my younger kids. Thanks Jonie and Norma for raising some good kids.

Catching up

This last weekend Brian and Kyler were able to go on the Father and Sons camp out. They had a lot of fun together. The favorite part was the bike ride on Saturday. They rode a lot of trails and Kyler just kept going and going. So, while the boys were away, Kaylee and I found some fun of our own (and Tyson too.) We went over the neighbors for a girls party. Kaylee had a lot of fun dressing up with a bunch of girls! We completed our girls night by painting our toe nails while watching a movie. We had a lot of fun too.

To use our canyon pass that Brian got for the camp out, we decided to go have a picnic up at the reservoir for FHE. The kids love walking the trails and seeing the water. There were also tons of squirrels to watch. Fun to get out of the house and see the beautiful scenery.

9 years!

9 years ago today I married the most wonderful man in the world! I can't believe that it has already been 9 years! Before we were engaged I made a list of 101 things I loved about Brian. I'm sure I could come up with a similar list today, but with even more things that I have learned that I love about him. Here are just a few. I love that he is so dedicated to his family, his work, his calling, and any thing else he puts his mind to. I love that he is dependable. I love that he cheers me up when I am down. I love how he makes the kids laugh.
We've grown and learned a lot in 9 years, and I hope that it keeps getting even better from here. I know it will. I am looking forward to it. I love you, Brian. PS Thanks for the roses! They are beautiful!
